The 5th Annual MMTC TriAtholton Kids Triathlon

benefiting Neighbor Ride and Athletes Serving Athletes (ASA)

Race date is June 29, 2014 at 9 am

Identification for the race: USAT members MUST bring membership cards to registration or pay a $10 fee for one-day registration.
For all participants, a form of identification for the entrant is desirable. Identification from a parent or guardian is REQUIRED at registration

Location: Atholton Swim Club at 6741 Seneca Dr, Columbia MD 21046 (directions to ASC)

The pool will be open for all race participants and families following the finish of the swimming portion of the triathlon, so bring your suits! All participants and their families are invited to stay for a free swim and use of the club facilities after the race!

Ages Groups and Distances:
Ages 5-6: Swim 25 meters, Bike ½ mile, Run ¼ mi
Ages 7-8: Swim 50m, Bike 1mile, Run ½ mile
Ages 9-10: Swim 50m, Bike 2 miles, Run ½ mile
Ages 11-12: Swim 100m, Bike 4 miles, Run 1 mile
Ages 13-14: Swim 200m, Bike 4 miles, Run 1 mile
Ages 15-17: Swim 200m, Bike 4 miles, Run 2 miles
NOTE: Age determined by age on 12/31/14

Awards: All participants will receive a T-shirt and finishers will also receive a medal. Age group winners will also be recognized.

Participants: All youth who will be aged 5-17 on 12/31/14 can be in the race. Please spread the word to your family and friends to come join in the fun. This is an individual race, no teams.

Fees: The registration cost is $40 plus $3.95 in fees. If the child is not a USA Triathlon member, there is also a $10 fee to purchase a one-day pass. USAT members must show their membership card on race day. Please note that registration and fees are non-refundable. Participants may choose to purchase Registration Protector (insurance) on-line with during the registration process. Registration Protector insures a participant's full registration fee, for covered reasons, without any financial risk or customer service resource drain to you.

Inclement Weather: We will hold the race rain or shine. If the race director must cancel the race due to severe storms or for any other reason, there will be no refunds.

Community Volunteers: We are currently looking for volunteers who live in the Allview/Arrowhead/Donleigh neighborhoods who would like to assist us on race day in guiding bikers and runners along the routes. (See course maps) Please contact the race director at if you can help, and ask your neighbors if they might be interested.

Atholton Swim Club is a member of the Central Maryland Swim League. The club is a family-oriented facility located in the Arrowhead-Allview-Donleigh Neighborhood of Columbia. Mid Maryland Triathlon Club, founded in 2002, is a USAT-sanctioned, not-for-profit group dedicated to helping area triathletes. Our members include novices looking for support before completing their first triathlon, to veterans of Ironman competition. The club is run by the members; they organize all the activities, social events, clinics, and workouts. Our workouts and clinics are geared to multisport athletes of all abilities. About the Beneficiaries:

Neighbor Rideserves Howard County residents age sixty and older by providing door-to-door transportation for medical appointments, religious services, recreational and social events, exercise and academic classes, volunteer and employment obligations, shopping and other day-to-day activities. Neighbor Ride’s mission is to decrease isolation and improve the quality of life for Howard County’s older residents by providing a reasonably priced, reliable supplemental transportation service which utilizes community volunteers and resources.

Athletes Serving Athletes (ASA) is a non-profit organization that brings people together to experience the joy, excitement, and thrill of competition. ASA offers innovative athletic training, supportive mentor relationships, and high quality endurance events for athletes living with disabilities. ASA uses athletic activity as a catalyst for personal development---improving physical fitness, increasing self-esteem and empowering challenged youth to meet their highest potential.
